Terence Steele

Terence Steele (born June 4, 1997) is an American football offensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

High school career

Steele attended Byron P. Steele II High School. He was considered a three-star recruit, the No. 1,844 overall prospect, the No. 179 offensive tackle and the No. 239 overall player in Texas in his class according to the 247Sports Composite. He committed to Texas Tech over offers from BYU, North Texas and UTSA.[1]

College career

Steele played college football at Texas Tech from 2015 to 2019, starting 47 games.[2] He played left tackle and left guard but mainly played right tackle.[3] After redshirting his freshman season, Steele was named to the All-Big 12 freshman team in 2016.[1] Steele helped the Red Raiders offense lead the nation in passing yards and total offense blocking for Patrick Mahomes, whom he credited with putting the team on the map.[4] He started 37 consecutive games before missing two games at the start of his senior year due to an offseason injury. Steele received All-Big 12 honorable mention honors following his junior and senior seasons for the Red Raiders.[1] He was part of an offensive line that allowed 18 sacks during his senior season.[4]

Following his college career Steele participated in the Senior Bowl.[4] He attended the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine.[3]

Professional career

Following the conclusion of the 2020 NFL Draft, Steele was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys.[5]
