Due to its rural location, it has a wide catchment area, with significant numbers of students travelling from Andover, Salisbury, Romsey, The Wallops and other small villages near to Stockbridge.

In May 2013, Ofsted judged the school as ‘Good’ in all areas and highlighted that ‘standards are rising, teaching is good and becoming better and pupils’ attendance has improved. These improvements demonstrate the school's strong capacity for further improvement’.[1] As a small rural school they are able to provide a stable and caring community for every pupil and Ofsted confirmed that ‘relationships are very good. Pupils are polite and friendly towards adults and treat each other with consideration and respect’. It was also noted that their ‘pupils enjoy school and are keen to do well’.
