History

Loop 212 was designated on August 26, 1948 as a loop route off US 290 into the city of Manor.[1] A portion of the highway is routed over the old alignment of SH 20 through Manor which was later redesignated as US 290 in 1951.[2]

Route description

Loop 212 starts northwest of Manor at US 290. It proceeds along Murray Avenue and then turns south to follow Lexington Street through the center of Manor. It turns east at Parsons Street at an intersection with FM 973. Upon leaving Manor, Loop 212 is renamed to Old State Highway 20. Loop 212 then turns north to intersect again with US 290. Loop 212 terminates here, while the road continues to the north of US 290 as FM 973.[3]
