The Desert's Price
The Desert's Price is a 1925 American Western film directed by W. S. Van Dyke and written by Charles Darnton. It is based on the 1924 novel The Desert's Price by William MacLeod Raine. The film stars Buck Jones, Florence Gilbert, Edna Marion, Ernest Butterworth, Arthur Housman and Montagu Love. The film was released on December 13, 1925, by Fox Film Corporation.[1][2][3]

Plot
In a land war between shepherds and ranchers, Julia Starke's father is murdered by the Martin brothers. Fair rancher Wils McCann takes pity on the girl and helps her herd sheep. Tom Martin tries to impose his will on Peggy Starke and he hurts the girl. Julia is furious and she injures Tom with a gun. Later, her brother Phil kills him in self-defense. Jim has Julia arrested for the murder of his brother. He then mobilizes an angry mob to hang Julia. Wil's men disperse the crowd and Jim faces trial for the murder of Julia's father.
