History

Conflict with Chespirito

The song was the subject of a lawsuit in 16 Nov 2009 against Mexican and American medias Televisa, Univision and Galavision, who was forced to pay Vanguard Records and Perrey for the use of the song for several years by Chespirito with neither royalty payments to Perrey and Vanguard, nor permission for its use.[21] [22][23] However Chespirito was not directly involved in the lawsuit. [1] The respective attorney for the plaintiffs was "Joseph L. Golden", and the attorney for the companies Univision Communications, Inc. and Galavision, Inc. was "Dylan Ruga", the respective attorney of the companies Xenon Pictures, Inc. and Lions Gate Entertainment, Inc was "Stephen G. Contopulos", who were also involved in the lawsuit. [22] The case was settled in 2010. [24] [25] [26]

The theme "The elephant never forgets" was used in chapter 11 of season 1 titled "The leak", of the series 31 minutos from 2003. The final credits imitate the musical credits of Chavo del Ocho. [27]
