- King Peladon first appeared in the 1972 TV story The Curse of Peladon with the Third Doctor. After both of these stories, the Third Doctor returns and meets the King's grown daughter, Thalira, in the 1974 TV story The Monster of Peladon.
- This is Big Finish's second Peladon story, the first being the 2008 full-cast Fifth Doctor story The Bride of Peladon.
