Choice explanation
KS4 students must undertake all core GCSE subjects, and choose one subject from the core choice section.

KS4 students must also choose which specialism subject to undertake, as well as choose two more additional GCSEs.

Options available have changed over time, with some subjects offered at the start of the school's life replaced by other subjects. For example, GCSE History was once available as an additional GCSE option, but due to low interest numbers the subject has been removed as an option.

Furthermore, it is also possible to undertake GCSE options which the student already specialises in. For example, if a student is fluent in, say, Polish or Japanese, they would be able to undertake Polish and Japanese GCSEs.

Post 16 (2018–current) – Year 12/13[3]
CORE subjects
  • Extended Project Qualitifcation (EPQ)
  • Student Support Programme
  • Industry Links/Work Placements

The EPQ is a core A-level subject choice that students must undertake.

The student support program is created by staff to help support students with their study.

Students are also required to undertake industry work placements to help bolster their CVs and UCAS application forms.

Specialism
Students must choose one or two specialism subjects to undertake as part of their A-levels.
  • BTEC IT
  • BTEC Travel & Tourism
  • BTEC Business
  • BTEC Media
A-level options
Students may then choose which further A-level subjects to undertake.
  • English Literature
  • Maths
  • Further Maths
  • Computer Science
  • Physics
  • French
  • Spanish
  • Photography
Other possible A-level options
Just as with GCSEs, some students may be able to undertake A-level options that aren't officially offered by the school. This means that the student would be entered for an A level choice due to self-study or already mastering the choice, such as a language. For example, if a student is fluent in Polish, then they would be able to undertake the Polish Language A-level as one of their choices.

In addition to that, the school may change which A-levels they will offer. For example, at the start of the school's life, the school offered Sociology as an A-level and later removed it as an option.
