True Mothers

True Mothers (朝が来る, Asa ga Kuru, "Comes Morning") is a 2020 Japanese drama film directed by Naomi Kawase. It was selected to be shown at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival.[2][3][4] It is based on a 2015 novel by Mizuki Tsujimura.[5] In June 2020, the Toronto International Film Festival announced that the film would be part of their 2020 festival.[6] It was selected as the Japanese entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards.[7][8]

Synopsis

The parents who adopted a five-year old child are worried that the child's birth-mother wants her baby returned.[9]
