The KU School of Engineering offers 11 undergraduate degree programs, all of which are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). These programs are: Aerospace Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Interdisciplinary Computing, Mechanical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering. The School of Engineering offers 16 masters degrees and 10 doctoral degrees and offers graduate certificate programs for the benefit of working professionals who need additional training or professional development in specific areas, but are not seeking to pursue a graduate degree.

Since 2014, KU Engineering has completed its greatest physical transformation since the construction of Learned Hall in the 1960’s. This includes the Learned Engineering Expansion Phase 2 (LEEP2) Building on KU’s Main Campus and the Structural Testing and Student Projects Facility on KU’s West Campus. New laboratories, classrooms, collaboration spaces, and workspaces spaces have transformed the way the School educates students and conducts research, positioning the School to enhance its service to the state of Kansas and the nation for years to come.

KU Engineering’s IHAWKe Diversity & Women’s Programs supports and equips innovative, team-oriented diverse engineers to change the world, connect with others and conquer their classes. IHAWKe began in Fall 2017, spearheaded by Engineering Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Professor Andrew B. Williams. IHAWKe builds off a rich history of diversity and women’s programs at KU Engineering that has engaged students since 1971. In 2019, for its diversity initiatives and infrastructure, IHAWKe received the inaugural ASEE Diversity Recognition Bronze Award as a leading diversity engineering program. KU Engineering was one of only 29 Engineering schools to receive an ‘exemplar’ designation (highest possible level).
