Vasa Stefanović

Vasilije "Vasa" Stefanović (14 January 1906 Belgrade, Yugoslavia, now Serbia - ?) was a Yugoslav international football referee.[1] He was 1st referee from Yugoslavia that refereed a World Cup match.

Career

He was member of FIFA in 1939–57 and refereed 6 international matches.[2] He officiated a group stage match in World Cup 1954[3] played between Austria–Czechoslovakia (5:0) and five friendly matches include a match in Central European International Cup in 1957.

In club football he officiated a Champions League match in 1955-57 season played between CDNA SofiaDinamo Bucuresti (8:1).[4] He refereed 1952 Yugoslav Cup Final match.
