The Victoria River has its source in Noël Lake (length: 0.4 kilometres (0.25 mi); altitude: 534 metres (1,752 ft)). This lake is located 2.4 kilometres (1.5 mi) east of the summit of Mont Saint-Joseph which is located on the eastern flank of Mont Mégantic. This spring is located 5.1 kilometres (3.2 mi) north of the center of the village of Notre-Dame-des-Bois and 3.9 kilometres (2.4 mi) south-west of the center of the village of Val-Racine.

In its course to the north, then to the east, the Victoria River flows over 21.2 kilometres (13.2 mi) divided into the following segments:

  • 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) towards the north, collecting various streams which drains the northeast flank of Mont Mégantic, until a road that it cuts at 1.0 kilometre (0.62 mi) south of the center of the village of Val-Racine;
  • 1.3 kilometres (0.81 mi) north-east, to the road that it intersects at 0.5 kilometres (0.31 mi) east of the center of the village of Val-Racine;
  • 3.1 kilometres (1.9 mi) north-east, up to a stream (coming from the west);
  • 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) east, until you reach a road;
  • 2.7 kilometres (1.7 mi) northeasterly, up to the limit between the municipalities of Val-Racine and Piopolis;
  • 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) eastward, up to the boundary between the municipalities of Piopolis and Marston;
  • 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) eastward, collecting the discharge from lac McKenzie (Marston) (coming from the northwest), to route 263;
  • 1.4 kilometres (0.87 mi) eastward, up to its confluence.[1]

The Victoria River flows onto the west shore of Victoria Bay of lake Mégantic in the municipality of Marston.[2] This confluence is located southeast of the center of the village of Marsboro, southeast of downtown Lac-Mégantic and north of the village of Piopolis. A bridge has been built near the confluence of the Victoria River, at the foot of the "Côte du Bois", between the hamlets of Vieux - Piopolis and Marsboro.
