History

Vikaspuri is a planned urban area started by the Delhi Development Authority and developed in 1980s on the land of Budhela and Keshopur, two villages of Vikas Puri. Its population boomed in the late 1990s. Budhela market is the major market of Vikaspuri.

Connectivity

Vikaspuri is accessible by many means of public transportation including auto rickshaw, taxi, Delhi Transport Corporation buses as well as the Delhi Metro. Janakpuri (West) and Uttam Nagar (East) stations are the nearest metro stations.

The Blue Line connects Vikaspuri to Connaught Place, Pragati Maidan, Anand Vihar ISBT and Vaishali via Janakpuri West Metro Station. The Magenta Line connects Vikaspuri to the Terminal 1 IGI Airport via Janakpuri North Metro Station.

Gramin Sewa Autos ply on Virjanand Marg (Uttam Nagar East Metro – PVR Vikaspuri – H-Block Vikaspuri).
