Vincenzo Candela

Vincenzo Marco Antonio Nicola Constantino Candela López (born 28 September 1994) is a Colombian footballer who plays as a midfielder for New York Cosmos in the National Independent Soccer Association.

Early life

Candela was born in Bogotá, Colombia, but he and his family moved to Sunny Isles, Florida in the United States when he was 4 years old.[1] His father is Italian and his mother is Colombian.[3]

Career

Candela spent time in Europe with Real in Portugal, Alemannia Aachen in Germany, and Eupen in Belgium, before moving back to Colombia in 2016 with Atlético Huila and later Llaneros.[4]

Candela returned to the United States when he signed with United Soccer League club Charleston Battery on 20 February 2018, following a successful open tryout appearance.[4] He made his professional debut in the USL on 24 March 2018 in a 1–0 win over Penn FC.[5]
