It began broadcasting in November, 2012 on the HD subcarrier of WDCG, which emphasizes a more Top 40 radio format. The station's nickname references translator station W237BZ at FM 95.3 in Clayton. A second translator, W236CA in Durham, began simulcasting on 95.1 in late 2015.[1][2][3]
