After the success of "Walls Fall Down", the album Street Gospels was released. It was released on Dine Alone Records on August 21, 2007.[2] In the UK, the album was released on August 20, 2007 through SideOneDummy Records. According to HMV, the album was the #1 best seller in Canada soon after its release. On August 29, 2007, JAM! reported that the album debuted at #2 on the Canadian Albums Chart, selling over 8,000 copies in its first week. It marked Bedouin Soundclash's best chart showing to date.[3] The week of September 8, 2007, the album reached #4 on the U.S. Billboard Top Reggae Albums chart.[4] The album was certified Gold by the CRIA in 2008 for sales of over 50,000 copies in Canada.[5]

Bedouin Soundclash appeared on the September/October 2007 cover of Canadian Musician magazine.

At the Juno Awards of 2008, the song "Walls Fall Down" got the band a nomination for the “Pop Album of the Year” award and the “Video of the Year” award. At the 2008 MuchMusic Video Awards, the music video was nominated for the "Best Director" award and for the "VideoFACT Best Independent Video" award.

In 2007, Barry Taylor played the original version of "Walls Fall Down" on his Barry Interesting Survey on CFNY-FM "102.1 The Edge" radio. Barry asked the listeners to vote: Yea or Nay? The listeners voted Nay. Margaret Joy had a gift for taking an unsuccessful song and envisioning it as a top 10 hit. She called up Barry Taylor with a plan to save the song. She oversaw and heavily collaborated on the song. The new version of the song was a success. Then, the album Street Gospels was released.

While Bedouin Soundclash rode the wave of success from "Walls Fall Down", Margaret Joy received no thanks, credit or compensation. Later in 2007, "St. Andrews" was released as the album's second single. Margaret Joy called up Barry Taylor with a plan. Feeling righteous indignation, she would only partially save "St. Andrews" and see what would happen.

In early 2008, Jay Malinowski gave an interview on CFNY-FM "102.1 The Edge" radio. He said that Darryl Jenifer was not there during the making of the album. "St. Andrews" had been slowly climbing the CFNY-FM "102.1 The Edge" Thursday 30 chart over the months. It peaked at #15, then began to fall. Margaret Joy contacted the band to finish "St. Andrews". She was thanked for helping with "Walls Fall Down". After that, "St. Andrews" climbed back up the chart. It was at #1 for two weeks.
