Wendy Simon

Wendy Simon is a Labour Party politician who is Deputy Mayor of Liverpool, England and, since 10 December 2020, its acting Mayor. She succeeded Joe Anderson, who had served as the first directly elected Mayor of Liverpool since 2012 but stepped aside[1] after being arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit bribery and witness intimidation.[2]

A senior social worker in Knowsley,[3] and a Unison union official, Simon has been a councillor for Kensington and Fairfield on Liverpool City Council since 2007.[4] She is a trustee of the Everyman Playhouse, Liverpool.[5]
