Womack, Texas
Womack is an unincorporated community in Bosque County in Central Texas.[1] It has a population of 25 as of 2000.[2] The town is 30 miles (48 km) northwest of Waco and 5 miles (8.0 km) northeast of Clifton.[2]
History
In 1852, James Pinckney Henderson came to own the land. Most of the area's residents were German immigrants in its early years. Womack was granted a post office in 1880 only to close 26 years later. The population prior to World War II was estimated to be around 40 residents. By 2000, Womack only had 25 people.[2]
