Yamate Station

Yamate Station (山手駅, Yamate-eki) is a railway station operated by JR East's Negishi Line located in Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan. It is 5.0 kilometers from the terminus of the Negishi Line at Yokohama Station and 64.1 kilometers from the terminus of the Keihin-Tōhoku Line at Ōmiya Station.

History

Yamate Station was opened on May 9, 1964. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of the Japan National Railways (JNR) in 1987.

Station layout

Yamate Station has two opposed side platforms serving two tracks. Both tracks are utilised by the Keihin-Tōhoku Line and Yokohama Line; track 1 serves southbound trains to Ōfuna whilst track 2 serves northbound trains to Yokohama and Tokyo.
