Yankee (yacht)
Yankee was a 1930 yacht of the J Class. She was ordered by John Silsbee Lawrence and designed by Frank Cabot Paine. She was built at Lawley & Son’s yard at Neponset (Dorchester), MA, USA. She was made of Tobin bronze and was 125 ft (38 m) long overall and measured 84 ft (26 m) on the waterline. Although considered a good yacht all round, she was not selected to complete in the America’s Cup, but (with modifications) she took part in the 1934 trials. Yankee was scrapped in 1941.[1][2]
