Yared Negu

Yared Negu (Ge'ez: ያሬድ ነጉ; born in 1993) is an Ethiopian artist, singer, director, and choreographer. He is one of the leading voices among Ethiopia’s emerging generation of pop artists.[1][2][3]

Life and career

1989 - 1994: Early life

Yared was born and raised in Merkato, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Yared lost his father and mother in his early age. When his father knew that he was going to of an unknown disease, he gave Yared to one of his friends, who sold charcoals and rented her small home for a living.[4]

1995 - 2014: Career beginnings

Yared became a dancer for popular local groups Kemise and Hahu, and later joined Ras Theatre, which empowered his musical passion and put on the track of his career beginning.[1]

2015 - 2020: First singles

In 2015, Yared released his first single which is entitled "Yebelegn", and got many hit. After 2 years, Yared again released his second single called "Yemerkato Arada", and got popular. Following this, he released a very popular music which are "Adi-Mera", "Zelelaye", "Hulumu Agere", "Chemere", "Yagute" and "Zora".[4][1]
