Yedanthasthula Meda

Yedanthasthula Meda (transl. Seven Storied Building) is a 1980 Telugu-language drama film, produced under the Jhansi Enterprises banner[2] and directed by Dasari Narayana Rao.[3] It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Sujatha, Jaya Sudha and music composed by Chakravarthy.[4] The film was remade as Hindi movie Pyaasa Sawan (1981) and in Tamil as Maadi Veettu Ezhai (1981).

Plot

The film begins with Ranga Rao (Akkineni Nageswara Rao), a young & energetic guy, looking for a job. Prabhakar Rao (Prabhakar Reddy), a millionaire, mistakes him as his wealthy friend's son, so, he offers him a job and also keeps him in his house under the intention to make him marry his daughter Janaki's (Sujatha). By the time, he learns the truth, Ranga Rao & Janaki love each other and they marry against the elders wish. After the marriage, the couple goes through a lot of troubles. Once Prabhakar Rao insults Ranga Rao & Janaki before everyone. Distressed, Ranga Rao decides to take avenge by earning money, so, builds a huge empire by hard labor. But in that process, he neglects his wife Janaki and not able to give much time to her. Janaki becomes depressed, she gives birth to a baby boy Venu. After some time, Ranga Rao awakes and understands the virtue of the wife. Right now, it is too late, he learns that Janaki is terminally ill. Ranga Rao tries maximum extent to save her utilizing his wealth but fails and she passes away. Years roll by, Ranga Rao raises his son Venu (again Akkineni Nageswara Rao) with indulge, he loves & marries a beautiful girl Sudha (Jaya Sudha). After the marriage, Ranga Rao assigns the business responsibilities to Venu and leaves for a tour. Here Venu becomes busy, repeats the same story with Sudha which leads to disputes & quarrels between the couple. Sudha leaves the house and the matter goes up to divorce. At that moment, Ranga Rao arrives, makes Venu understand the greatness of the wife by revealing his past. Immediately he rushes for Sudha, she also moves by the guidance of her parents. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the reunion of the couple.
