Yousef Tabatabai Nejad

(Seyyed) Yousef Tabatabai Nejad (sometimes spelled as Tabatabaei-Nejad) is a Shia cleric and Friday leading prayer that represents the Isfahan Province in Iran's Assembly of Experts. Tabatabai is a hardline conservative who in 2016 claimed that the act of women taking pictures of themselves in the Zayanderud river contributed to a drought in said river.On October 1st 2020 meeting with NAJA and Intelligence Ministry of Iran he said we should make society unsafe for women not wearing hijab raising alarm for the fear of repeat of Acid attacks on women in Isfahan.[3][4][5][6][7]

In 2015 he said women should be denied working in stores and offices.[8] In 2019, he made municipality of Isfahan to deny women access to bicycles legally shutting down two city bicycle stations.[9][10][11]

He is critical of possible changing of supreme leader position to council.[12]
