Ángel Luis Ríos Matos

Ángel Luis Ríos Matos (born October 5, 1956) is a Puerto Rican priest of the Catholic Church who serves as the bishop of the Diocese of Mayagüez.

Biography

He has a BA in Philosophy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. A BA in theology from Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia and a PhD in Canon Law from the same university. On January 11, 1985, Ríos Matos was ordained to the priesthood. Pope Francis appointed Ríos Matos bishop for the Diocese of Mayagüez on May 9, 2020.[1][2][3] On August 1, 2020, Ríos Matos was consecrated and installed as bishop of the Diocese of Mayaguez.
