École Secondaire Henri-Bourassa

École Secondaire Henri-Bourassa is a French language secondary school located in Montréal-Nord under the Commission scolaire de la Pointe-de-l'Île.

The school is located at the corner of Maurice Duplessis and Laurier. It is situated next to Henri Bourassa park.

International Program

The school offers the International Baccalaureate program since 1999. [1]This program allows student to develop world views, abilities, intellectual methods, sense of responsibility, team project competencies and global understanding of international issues. It stimulates their curiosity and open-mindedness to other cultures and their willingness to learn.

Culture

École Secondaire Henri-Bourassa is known for its cultural diversity. Aside from the fact that the school welcomes students from various ethnic background, the cultural life of Henri-Bourassa is very rich, holding presentations of music, visual art, improvisational theatre, dance, fashion and literature.[2]

Sports

Whether they are competitive or recreative, sports are at the heart of Henri-Bourassa's activities. The school has 18 sport teams including basketball, flag football, soccer, cross-county, athletics, cheerleading, swimming and volleyball.[3] It also has 2 basketball courts, 4 tennis courts plus a shared soccer pitch located in a nearby park. "Les Béliers" are their logo and symbol, and is an important source of pride, attachement and school identity among all cohorts. [4]
