1931 San Francisco State Golden Gaters football team
The 1931 San Francisco State Golden Gaters football team represented San Francisco State Teachers College[note 1] during the 1931 college football season. This was the first season for football at San Francisco State.

Although the "Gator" was voted to be the mascot for the team in 1931, local newspaper articles called the team the "Golden Gaters". The team was led by head coach Dave Cox. They played home games at Ewing Field in San Francisco, California. San Francisco State finished with a record of two wins, three losses and three ties (2–3–3). For the season the team outscored its opponents 50–35.
