1940 Cuban general election
General elections were held in Cuba on 14 July 1940.[1] Fulgencio Batista won the presidential election running under the People's Socialist Coalition banner, whilst the Partido Auténtico emerged as the largest party in the House of Representatives. Voter turnout was 73.4%.[2]

¹ The Democratic Socialist Coalition (also known as the People's Socialist Coalition) was an alliance of the Communist Revolutionary Union, Progressive Action, the Democratic National Association, the Liberal Party and the Republican Democratic Party.
² The Opposition Front was an alliance of the ABC, the Partido Auténtico and Republican Action.
