1986 Greek Basketball Super Cup

The 1986 Greek Basketball Super Cup is the 1st edition of the Greek professional domestic basketball super cup competition. It was organised under the auspices of the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.) only once, in 1986, between the 1985–86 Greek basketball champion, Aris and the 1985–86 Greek basketball cup winner, Panathinaikos. Aris went on to win both the Greek championship and cup (domestic double) for the next four consecutive seasons (1986–87, 1987–88, 1988–89, 1989–90) and Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.) never held the Greek basketball super cup competition again.

Game Format

The competition was played between the 1985–86 Greek basketball champion, Aris and the 1985–86 Greek basketball cup winner, Panathinaikos, with a game in Thessaloniki, where Aris is based, and a game in Athens, where Panathinaikos is based. Aris won both their home game (117–85) and their away game (104-88), thereby winning the super cup easily.[3][4]
