212 Mart

212 Mart is a minimarket brand used by 212 Sharia Cooperative, inspired by 212 Movement.[1] According to the official website, it was declared on 6 January 2017 by influential Islamic figures in Indonesia such as current Indonesian Vice-President Ma'ruf Amin, preacher Bachtiar Nasir, and Didin Hafhiduddin. It is registered on Ministry of Cooperative and Small & Medium Enterprises.[2] The first booth was opened in Bogor, later expanded to most of Indonesia and as of 2018 has more than 120 booths across the nation.[3][4] Its business principle according to the official sources are trying to empower small to medium enterprises owned by ordinary Indonesians, and adherence to sharia such as not selling tobacco, or condoms, and only selling halal products.[5]
