Ceremony
The award ceremony of the International Emmy Awards was held on the evening of November 24. This is an award for which competing series, miniseries and programs generally produced outside the US without American co-production. The winners were chosen by a panel of judges made up of professionals from different countries who apply to the function and are selected by the Academy. Disputed the prize productions who enrolled between December 2013 and February 2014.[2]
Featuring comedian Matt Lucas as the master of ceremonies, the event honored producer Matthew Weiner (Mad Men), who received the Emmy Founders Award delivered by actors John Slattery and Christina Hendricks.[3] Rupert Murdoch presented the International Emmy Directorate Award to Roberto Irineu Marinho, Chairman & CEO, Grupo Globo.[4]
Among the actors, Stephen Dillane won the award for Best Actor for The Tunnel, and Bianca Krijgsman took the award for Best Actress for the Dutch series De Nieuwe Wereld, in which she plays a woman who works in the immigration department, at the international airport.[5] The International Academy also recognizes US primetime programming produced 50% or more in non-English languages, with a new category added to the 2014 International Emmy Awards competition.[6]
