History

Opened in 1999 by Gladys Watt as the West London Tutorial College, the school was renamed as Acorn Independent College in 2006, and then again as Acorn House College in 2013. The college topped the exam league tables in its first year.

In 2013, the college joined the Dukes Education Group and shortly afterwards, Gladys Watt retired. John Wilson, a medical school entry specialist, joined the school as Principal from another high-achieving West London college. In 2017 the college was taken over by Regent Group a North West London based educational provided and Dr. Francis Choi took over as Principal. Dr Choi has been a part of Acorn House since it was founded and is a brilliant communicator of Mathematics to groups of students of mixed ability. In 2020 Tharshiny Pankaj and Dr. Selva Pankaj took over as the Co-Principals. Regent Group rebranded Acorn House College as Regent Independent College in January 2021.

Curriculum

The school offers GCSE and A Level courses in a range of subjects as well as offering retake courses, resits for students from other schools, and specialist Medical and Oxbridge admissions courses. It has a small curriculum that prepares students for degree courses in the medical sciences; traditional sciences, like biology and physics; social sciences, and law and related subjects.
