Acronemus

Acronemus is an extinct genus of Euselachian shark from the middle Triassic.[1][2] It is an enigmatic genus, originally placed in ctenacanthiformes. It is now labelled an incertae sedis, having a mix of features and lack thereof from hybodontiforms and neoselachians. Originally, teeth from this genus were attributed to "Acrodus bicarinatus" and fin spines to "Nemacanthus tuberculatus". Associated material showed they were the same animal and the older specific epithet took precedence. This makes the only species in this genus 'A. tuberculatus'. It is found in the Grenzbitumenzone of Monte San Giorgio, Switzerland.[3]
