Adado (Somali: Cadaado) is a town in the Galguduud region of Galmudug state in central Somalia.

Location

Adado is a rapidly developing town in central Somalia. The town is 77 kms away from Dhusamareb, the capital city of the Galmudug state of Somalia and Galgaduud region administrative capital. The central main highway of Somalia goes through the city and is one of the main reasons the city is economically booming like many cities and towns in the area.

Demographics

The broader Adado District had a population of 395,051 residents as of 2016, it is populated by Saleebaan, Habar Gidir of the larger Hawiye.[1][2]

Services

Several health centres exist in the city, among them is Adado General Hospital which is one of the best hospitals in central Somalia.[3]

Transportation

Air transportation in the city is served by Adado International Airport as the largest airport in Galmudug. A major renovation took place in the airport in 2013, a new airport immigration was built in 2013 funded by the former regional state of Himan and Heeb.[4]
