Adam Duggleby

Adam Christopher John Duggleby MBE (born 16 October 1984) is a British Paralympic cyclist. He represented Great Britain in the 2016 Rio Paralympics as a sighted pilot for visually impaired cyclist, Stephen Bate with whom he was paired in January 2014.[2]

In 2017 Duggleby broke two Cycling Time Trials national records: tricycle 10 miles[3] and 100 miles bicycle.[4] Adam also won the British Best All-Rounder time trial competition for 2017.[5] In 2018 Steve and Adam won the UCI World 4 km Tandem B Pursuit and the UCI World Tandem B Time Trial, both for the first time. Adam also won the CTT National 12hr Time Trial Championship[6][7] in 2018 beating the National Record in the process

2016 Summer Paralympics

On 8 September 2016, Duggleby and Bate won a gold medal in Rio de Janeiro at the 2016 Summer Paralympics, in the Men's individual pursuit B.[27] In qualification the pair set the Men's Individual pursuit B 4 km world record with 4.08.146.

On 14 September 2016, Duggleby and Bate won their second gold medal in Rio de Janeiro at the Summer Paralympics, in the Men's individual Time Trial B.[28]

On 17 September 2016, Duggleby and Bate rounded off a successful Paralympic games in Rio de Janeiro with a bronze medal in the Men's individual Road Race B.[29]

Duggleby was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to cycling.[30]
