Early life and career

Ahmed Amir was born and raised in the "Amir family" which also includes Ibrahim Amir and Fazeela Amir.[2] In 1993, after completing his studies, Amir formed an act titled "Mars Band", which contributed to the music industry in programming music tracks and recording songs.[3] Apart from guiding the students on singing techniques, he composed music tracks for several students performing in the Interschool Singing Competition.[3][4] In 1995, Amir was bestowed with Gaumee Film Award for Best Background Music for his work in Dheriyaa.[5] His album Fanvaiy, in which he performed seven original melodies and composed six music tracks, was released in 2000 and resulted in his being awarded the Maldivian National Award of Recognition.[3][6] Throughout his career, Amir recorded many songs with his sister Fazeela Amir and was more involved with the studio albums than film songs.[7][8]
