Club career

Early career

Ahmedhodžić came through youth academy of his hometown club Malmö FF, which he left in January 2016 to join Nottingham Forest.[2] He made his professional debut against Newcastle United on 30 December at the age of 17.[3]

Malmö FF

On 28 January 2019, Ahmedhodžić returned to Malmö for an undisclosed transfer fee.[4] He made his competitive debut for the team against Helsingborg on 2 June.[5]

In July 2019, Ahmedhodžić was sent on a season-long loan to Danish side Hobro IK, but was recalled in January 2020.[6] On 21 July, he scored his first professional goal against Esbjerg.[7]

In April 2020, Ahmedhodžić extended his contract until December 2023.[8] On 5 August, he scored his first goal for Malmö FF.[9] Ahmedhodžić won his first trophy with the club on 8 November, when they were crowned league champions.[10]

International career

After representing Sweden on all youth levels, Ahmedhodžić made his senior international debut in a friendly match against Moldova on 9 January 2020.[11] However, in August, he decided that he would play for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future.[12]

In September, his request to change sports citizenship from Swedish to Bosnian was approved by FIFA.[13] Later that month, he received his first senior call-up, for UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying play-offs against Northern Ireland and 2020–21 UEFA Nations League games against Netherlands and Poland.[14] Ahmedhodžić debuted against Northern Ireland on 8 October.[15]
