Apold

Apold (German: Trapold) is a commune in Mureș County, Transylvania, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Apold, Daia (Denndorf; Dálya or Szászdálya), Șaeș (Schaas; Segesd), and Vulcan (Wolkendorf; Volkány).

The commune is located in the southern part of the county, on the border with Brașov and Sibiu counties. Its neighbors are as follows:[2]

Apold is traversed on a distance of 32 km (20 mi) by the Șaeș River, a left tributary of the Târnava Mare. The highest elevation is attained on the Bironului Hill, at 707 m (2,320 ft).[2]
