Atanu Das

Atanu Das (born 5 April 1992) is an Indian archer.[2] He represents India in the Recurve Men's Individual and Team events. He made his international debut in 2008.[3] His current world ranking is 22.[4]

Atanu has won a bronze medal, with Deepika Kumari, in the 2013 World Cup Mixed Team event organized in Colombia. Atanu is currently employed in Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Kolkata.[5]

Atanu is a promising Indian talent, who started archery at the age of 14 under the coaching of Mithu Da. In 2008, Atanu moved to Tata Archery Academy where he was trained under the Korean coach Lim Chae Wong. Recently he was being filmed by world archey for its documentary about archery.

Personal life

Atanu Das was born on 5 April 1992. He did his schooling from Baranagar Narendranath Vidyamandir, Baranagar.

He is employed with Bharat Petroleum Sports Promotion Board. He got married to former world no. 1 Deepika Kumari on 30th June 2020 in Ranchi.[6][7][8]
