Australian Aboriginal elder

An Australian Aboriginal elder is defined into two catergories.

1.Traditional Elder & Owner

2.Commercial indigenous Elder

1; Traditional Elder & Owner is defined as;- "The direct decendants of first Nations, who has not been forcefully removed from their nation by APB. Living on country & owning their own lands.. Locally is known recognition as a custodian of knowledge, customs and the nation lore, who also has permission to disclose knowledge and beliefs" including the practice of customs & culture. Also a Significant input to mainstream media, Cultural diversity issues within their own Nations..

This includes upholding nation LORES - Punishments & customs that are protected by TO's within their Nations..

[1] Commercial Elders provide support for their communities in the form of guidance, counselling and knowledge, which may help tackle problems of health, education, unemployment. Also is widley used as token for government bodies and tourism in Australia, for example "Performance: Dancing for tourism"

Orchestrating Jobs that identify indigenous to obtain wage assistance and or grants for business under government control! [2] Their role has also been the subject of academic research.[3][4]

Self-determination advocacy organisation the Aboriginal Provisional Government was initially headed by a "Council of Elders" in accordance with the "traditions and beliefs of Aboriginal groups nationwide".[5]
