Bavdhan

Bavdhan is an upcoming, fast-growing suburb located along the western border of Pune city in Maharashtra, India. It is located off the Mumbai-Bangalore national highway, by-passing Pune city. Bavdhan road serves as the main approach road for Mumbai-Pune expressway and near Chandani Chowk. Bavdhan is bordered by Pashan in north, Bhugaon village on west, NDA reserved forest area in south and Kothrud in east.

Administration

Bavdhan is part of the Khadakwasla (Vidhan Sabha constituency).[1] It has two ward representatives in Pune Municipal Corporation.

Transportation

Bavdhan is well connected to Kothrud, Paud Road, Baner, Aundh, Pashan, University circle, Sus village via excellent roads. The Shivajinagar railway station is about 10 kms away (30 mins), the Pune Junction Railway station is about 14 kms (40-45 mins) away and the Pune airport about 22 kms away (60-75 mins). Direct buses are available from Bavdhan to PMC, University Circle, Hinjewadi, Pashan Circle, Kothrud, Karve road, Deccan Gymkhana, Marketyard [2] and Pune Station.[3]

Lifestyle

Bavdhan has quite a few defence establishments, making it green and well maintained. The 'Neckless Road' which passes through the DRDO estate is a choice of health enthusiast. Most of the resident enjoy walking, running or cycling on this beautifully winding road with good footpath. Neckless Road is a key contributor in healthy lifestyle in Bavdhan.
