Background

Born to Sing contained twelve tracks, a few of which were cover versions, including Anita Bryant's "Paper Roses" and June Carter's "Go Away Stranger." It also included a song penned by Dallas Frazier, who had written many of Smith's major hits during her career. The album was released on a 12-inch vinyl LP record, with six songs included on each side of the record. The release was reviewed by Allmusic, giving it four in a half out of five stars, the same rating that was given to many of her previous releases.[2] It was Smith's final album to be released in 1966.
