Bourbon Crow

Bourbon Crow is the outlaw country music project formed by the horror fan Wednesday 13. They have released three full-length albums Highway to Hangovers, Long Way to the Bottom and Off the Wagon on the Rocks. In 2007, a Texas tour in support of the first album was cancelled after Wednesday 13 was involved in a car accident returning from rehearsals, leaving him with a broken collar bone and a fractured ankle. In May 2009, the band toured the United States in support of its second album, with Wednesday. This touring line-up also included the then Wednesday 13 bass guitarist Nate Manor on electric bass with Roman Surman as the electric guitarist. The band name many country musicians such as Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard as their main influences, claiming that Highway to Hangovers is a salute to them. The subject matter of many of their songs is comical, with satirical lyrics about such topics as alcohol, sex and death. However, Bourbon Crow has never stated the album was a serious attempt at outlaw country.

Long Way to the Bottom

According to the band's Myspace page, Bourbon Crow recorded their second album at Hooverama studios in Charlotte, North Carolina, the same location that Wednesday 13 used for 12 years to record his Wednesday 13 and Frankenstein Drag Queens releases. 13 songs were recorded for the album, titled Long Way to the Bottom, but only ten were used. The recording session was video taped and it was suggested that the video might be included as a bonus. The album was preceded by two free podcasts ("crowcasts") which were released by Wednesday. Long Way From the Bottom was officially released on May 5, 2009.

Off the Wagon on the Rocks

After the band left their record label, they went to Kickstarter to record their third album, Off the Wagon on the Rocks.
