Facilities

In 2001, Calumet acquired the Shreveport facility from Pennzoil-Quaker State and it is one of the only complete specialty refineries operating in the United States. The Shreveport refinery is the largest operating facility in northwest Louisiana. The Shreveport Refinery is considered the flagship refinery of Calumet.

On October 1, 2011 Calumet acquired the Superior, WI refinery from Murphy Oil USA. This Superior Refinery primarily produces fuels along with Asphalt and Bunker Fuel to the Great Lakes shipping industry allowing Calumet to diversify their product offerings. In 2013, Calumet proposed spending $20 million to upgrade a dock near the Superior refinery to transport crude oil on barges across the Great Lakes.[1][2] In August 2017, the Superior refinery was sold to Husky Superior Refining Holding Corporation, a wholly owned unit of Husky Energy.[3] This move was taken in order to focus on specialty petroleum products.[4]

Calumet acquired Royal Purple in 2012 headquartered in Porter, Texas. It produces a wide range of high performance lubricants for nearly every consumer and industrial application.

In April 2020, Calumet Specialty Products Partners announced that current board member Steve Mawer will take over as new CEO of the company replacing Tim Go.[5]
