Central High School (Connecticut)

Central High School is a high school in Bridgeport, Fairfield County, Connecticut in the United States. It was founded in 1876 as Bridgeport High School.[3]

In 2003 the school held 2,217 students and 152 teachers.[7] Ethnically the students were 79% African-American, .3% Hispanic, 11% white and .6% Asian, with .1% marked as unknown.[7]

The current school building was constructed in 1963–4,[3] and was dedicated on October 25, 1964.[7] The school is under renovation scheduled to be complete in 2021.
