Chia-Jen Lo

Chia-Jen Lo (born 7 April 1986), is a Taiwanese professional baseball pitcher for the Wei Chuan Dragons of Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). He has played for the Fubon Guardians of the Chinese Professional Baseball League and the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball.

Career

Houston Astros

On October 31, 2008, Lo signed with the Houston Astros.[1]

Lo attended the Houston Astros' 2010 Spring Training, but was sent down to the minor leagues soon after.

Lo was recalled by the Astros on July 29, 2013.[2] He made his major league debut on July 31, 2013, pitching one scoreless inning of relief and recording his first career strikeout in an 11–0 win over the Baltimore Orioles.

On May 27, 2014, Lo was released by the Astros.[3]

EDA Rhinos / Fubon Guardians

He signed with the EDA Rhinos and played as their closer in 2014.

After the 2018 season, Lo signed with the Sydney Blue Sox of the Australian Baseball League for the 2018/19 season.

Lo was released by Guardians because of his poor control performance after 2019 season.

Wei Chuan Dragons

The last day of 2019, Wei Chuan Dragons announced they have signed Lo to a contract.

International career

Lo selected Chinese Taipei national baseball team at the 2008 Summer Olympics,[4] 2009 World Baseball Classic,[5] 2013 exhibition games against Japan, 2014 Asian Games and 2015 WBSC Premier12.
