Déjà Vu (Roger Waters song)

"Déjà Vu" is a song by English rock musician and former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters, and the second track on his fourth solo studio album, Is This the Life We Really Want? It was released as a single on 8 May 2017,[1] with the album being released on 2 June 2017,[2][3][4] by Columbia Records. It was previously known as "Lay Down Jerusalem (If I Had Been God)" when played live before single's official release.[5] Waters reintroduced the 'Lay Down Jerusalem' refrain in live performances dating from the 2018 Oceania leg of his Us + Them Tour.[6][7] A reprise of this song with the excised verses "And if I were a Muslim/And you were a Jew/If I were a Mennonite/And you were an Hindu/Would we exchange/The weight of these chains/Chains of belief/And the carnage on the trains to turn over a new leaf" and "If I had been God/I would not have chosen anyone/I would have laid an even hand/On all my children everyone/Would have been content/To forgo Ramadan and Lent/Time better spent/In the company of friends/Breaking bread and mending nets" appears on the album version of Roger Waters: Us + Them.
