De La Salle University College of Law

The college was founded on the principles of human rights and civil liberties by Atty. Jose Manuel Diokno, who serves as Dean up to the present day. The mission of the college was to create morally grounded and well-rounded individuals ready to serve the oppressed and take a stand on these issues. This became the blueprint for all subjects in the college regardless of the selected area of study for each student, which was a first in Philippine legal education. Another revolutionary practice was the use of "The Green Notes." These were made to aid students in reviewing for all legal topics in lieu of fraternity and sorority assistance, as such groups were prohibited by the school. Student organizations, however, continue to thrive among the students.

In terms of performance, the school continues to progress as manifested by the top performances of the first set of pioneer batches. Simultaneously, the faculty has experienced rapid growth in relation to the meteoric rise in the student population. Other innovations include the BGC campus and its groundbreaking facilities, among many others.

The college started accepting applicants in Academic Year 2009-2010 and started its classes in Academic Year 2010-2011 with the Doctor of Jurisprudence program. The first batch of graduates were conferred with the degree on June 2014. This coincided with their celebration of 100 years of proven excellence in the field of Humanities.

Its Board of Advisers is composed of former Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban, and former Justices Florentino Feliciano, Josue Bellosillo, Anselmo T. Reyes, and Atty. Antonio Oposa Jr.[1]
