Early life

Sidhu was born in 1984 to a Punjabi family in Muktsar, Punjab.[3][5]

Career

Sidhu became the winner of Kingfisher Model Hunt and then he took part in Grasim Mr. India and became Grasim Mr. Personality and Grasim Mr. Talented. Sidhu has walked ramp in Mumbai for designers like Hemant Trivedi, Rohit Gandhi and others. Somehow he could not connect with Modelling World so he started practising as a lawyer since he has studied law. His first placement was with Sahara India Pariwar as legal advisor.[6] Then he worked with British law firm called Hammonds. They managed Disney, Sony Pictures and other Hollywood Studios. Then he became legal head of Balaji Telefilms for three and half years. That's where Ekta Kapoor told him to act but he didn't start.[7][8]

Politics

Sidhu entered in politics during 2019 Indian general election and campaigned for Gurdaspur BJP MP Sunny Deol. He is said to be close to Deol and in December 2020, during farmers protest, farmer unions used Sidhu's pictures with Prime minister Narendra Modi and Sunny Deol to show the link of BJP and RSS in protests—a claim which was later denied by Sidhu.[5]

The farmer unions blamed Sidhu[9] and gangster-turned-activist Lakha Sidhana[10] for instigating riot and hoisting a religious flag on Red Fort during the 2021 Farmers' Republic Day parade.[11] Sidhu and Sadana were also booked by the police.[12] In a preliminary investigation by the police, it said in a statement "there was a pre-conceived and well-coordinated plan to break the agreement between the Delhi Police and the leaders of protesting organizations." Delhi police filed an FIR under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and sedition against the personal and farm leaders involved in the rioting.[13][14][15] On 3 February 2021, the Delhi Police announced ₹1 lakh reward for leads on Sidhu.[16][17]
