Denys Favorov

Denys Favorov (Russian: Денис Володимирович Фаворов; born 1 April 1991) is a Ukrainian professional football midfielder who plays for Zorya Luhansk.[1]

Career

Favorov is a product of the different Kyivan youth sportive school systems. His first trainers were Oleksandr Leonidov and O. Ostrovskyi (in FC Dynamo Kyiv). He spent his career as a player in a lower Ukrainian football leagues.

Cherkaskyi Dnipro

In 2014 he played for Cherkaskyi Dnipro.[2]

Desna Chernihiv

In March 2016 he became a player of Desna Chernihiv in the Ukrainian First League, signing a contract for 1.5 years. In Chernigov, he soon became one of the leaders of the team.[3] In the spring of 2016, he was a first-team player, played as a central midfielder and right-back.[4][5] He played a decisive role in the victory over one of the leaders of the First League, Cherkasy Dnipro, scoring 2 goals against his former team.[6][7]He has been elected best player of the round 3 and 15 in Ukrainian First League in the season 2016–17.[8][9]

On July 13, 2017 Favorov signed a new contract with Desna for a period of 3 years.[10] With Desna Chernihiv, he was promoted to the Ukrainian Premier League in the 2017–18 season.[11]

Since 2018, his brother Artem Favorov has been performing with him at Desna Chernihiv.[12] In most matches of the spring part of the 2017/18 season, Denis Favorov took the team to the field with a captain's armband.[13] He opened the score in the guest match of the second last round with Ingulets, the victory over which allowed him to bypass the competitor in the standings and reach the playoff zone.[14] Having taken the final 3rd place, the team got the right to play for a place in the elite division with the 10th team of the Premier League, Zirka Kropyvnytskyi. The first meeting, which took place away, ended in a draw - during the match, Desna won, but the opponent managed to equalize due to the unsuccessful actions of Favorov, who, in an attempt to block the shot, sent the ball into his own net.[15] In the return match Favorov opened the scoring in the 38th minute, marking the beginning of the victory of Desna with a score of 4: 0. Having won the playoffs, Desna secured an exit to the Premier League.[16] Denis Favorov with 15 goals in all tournaments became the team's top scorer. He was also elected Best Player of the Ukrainian First League for the season scoring 14 goals.[17]

On 24 August 2019 in Ukrainian Premier League, he scored against FC Oleksandriya in the season 2019–20 in the away victory of 0-3 for Desna Chernihiv[18]

During the play off for the Ukrainian First League in the 2019–20 season, on 20 May 2020, he scored a penalty in a 2–0 away win against Kolos Kovalivka.[19] On 6 June 2020, he scored a penalty in a 3–2 loss against Shakhtar Donetsk.[20] On 21 July 2020, during 2–1 defeat against Zorya Luhansk, he scored a penalty.[21] On 5 July 2020, during the match against Kolos Kovalivka he scored two goals, the second being a long-range shot, and he was elected best player of the round 29.[22][23]

Denys Favorov with the club qualified for the Europa League third qualifying round, for the first time in the history of the Club.[24]

Favarov was included in the best squad of the Ukrainian Premier League of the season 2019–20 season. In August 2020, his contract expired with the club of Chernihiv and they didn't manage to extend it, with big shock of the press and all fans, that love him. With Desna Chernihiv, he made most caps and goals of his career in 4 years.[25]

Zorya Luhansk

On 9 August 2020, Denys Favorov signed 2 years contract with Zorya Luhansk in Ukrainian Premier League and qualified for the UEFA Europa League[26] He played his first match with his new club the 11 August 2020 against Dnipro-1 on the defeat 2-3 in a friendly match.[27][28] On 22 August 2020 Favorov scored his first goal with the new club in the defeat match against Desna Chernihiv at the Stadion Yuri Gagarin in Chernihiv for the first match of the Ukrainian Premier League season 2020-21-[29] Before and after the match he received a huge welcome from the Desna's coach Oleksandr Ryabokon and the fans that they waited for him outside of the stadium to take a pictures with him. On 22 October 2020 he made his debut in UEFA Europa League against Leicester City at King Power Stadium.[30]On 3 December 2020 he provided assist for Allahyar Sayyadmanesh for the winning goal for 1-0, against Leicester City at Slavutych-Arena for the UEFA Europa League.[31]On 12 January 2021 he scored by penalty against Raków Częstochowa in the friendly match ended 2-2.[32]

Personal life

His younger brother Artem Favorov is also a professional football player of Puskás Akadémia, that he also played for FC Desna Chernihiv.[33] [34][35]
