Dewi Remaja

Dewi Remaja (Miss Teen Malaysia) is a beauty contest organized by the Remaja magazine (Youth magazine) owned by the Karangkraf group. The competition is usually in alternating with the competition for the male version of the Hero Remaja (Mister Teen Malaysia).

The finalists will not compete in swimsuits. They will only wear the evening gown all the time. The winner of the contest will not compete in any international beauty contest such as Miss Universe nor Miss World because most of the finalists are Muslim, and Malaysian Muslim women are forbidden to compete in any international pageants since 1997.

Dewi Remaja 2019/2020 edition

For the 11th edition, 600 contestants from across Malaysia were auditioned for the competition before 12 semi-finalists were selected.[6] The top 12 semi-finalists were quarantined for 54 days to minimize any social problems as seen during the previous edition.[7] The competition was aired over the course of eight episodes on Astro Ria and Astro Ria HD, whereby contestants were eliminated.[7] The top five finalists then competed in a grand final held on 14 December 2019 and was telecast live. Shaza Nuriman Mohamad Zamri (Shaza Bae) of Kuala Lumpur bested other four contestants to clinch the title of "Dewi Remaja 2019/2020".[8]
