Dolní Dunajovice

Dolní Dunajovice (German: Unter Tannowitz) is a municipality and village in Břeclav District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,700 inhabitants. It is located about 7 km (4.3 mi) northwest of Mikulov.

History

The settlement was first mentioned as Donavicz in an 1183 deed. In 1249 the Moravian margrave Ottokar II granted it together with the Lordship of Mikulov to the Austrian noble Henry I of Liechtenstein.
